I didn't borrow this title from just anyone: "Consulting Designer" was the job title on my childhood hero's business card. His work in the fog of London consisted of thoroughly exploring, taking a very close look again and again, striving to understand – and finally creating a coherent overall picture.
My clients receive design in the form of a well thought-out product. And they can receive design as a content-related and conceptual exploration of their ambitious projects: Together, we review ideas and concepts in the form of sketches, drafts and prototypes. We look at how services, products and the underlying structures could be designed – until it is clear what is to be implemented.
My areas of expertise are information and system design in the fields of UX design, interface design, corporate design and signaling (orientation in buildings).
I support research, development and design teams as well as communication departments with consulting, design and prototyping.
I hold workshops on visual work and communication, particularly in the areas of research, scientific communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
I owe my enthusiasm for information and system design (besides Mr. Holmes and Dr. Watson) in particular to my professors Michael Klar and Ruedi Baur, as well as the continuous exchange with Prof. Martin Hirsch (AI/Medicine), Prof. Severin Wucher (Design) and Markus Lerner (Creative Coding).
I am a member of the IDZ (International Design Center Berlin), the program advisory board of Urania Berlin, Wikimedia Deutschland and the Buchstabenmuseum.
Together with Severin Wucher, I founded Plural, an association for branding, communication and design.
